Poem

I am basically an inventor and a scientist having a chemistry and physics degree and an MBA.

I strongly believe in vaccines and in vaccination, but also in free will. Vaccines should be free or very cheap and available everywhere, but not mandatory. But if you decide not to use them and get sick, then there should be a penalty. If you touch a hot stove you will get burned. If you decide to jump off a cliff deciding gravity is not real, you will probably get killed. So with Jennifer Doadena’s curiosity and discoveries, new vaccines could be developed very quickly. It’s too bad many people not knowledgeable in the sciences were stuck in the inertia of previous belief that it should take many years of testing before a vaccine is safe. Animals have had a vaccine for Lime disease for 50 years or so, and one was developed for humans, but industry did not find it profitable so dropped it. So many people have now suffered with Lime disease when prevention was out there. Thus the inspiration for this poem.

An itsy bitsy virus came upon the land,

Pretty soon infecting most of all mankind

Along came the scientists designing new vaccines,

That itsy bitsy virus was soon left far behind!

We have sourdough pancakes every Sunday morning made using the sourdough starter we received from relatives in Alaska. After finishing graduate school in June 1965 we took a many thousand mile camping trip in our long model Land Rover, that we bought new the February before. We drove across Canada, all around Alaska, down the west coast to Baja and then diagonally through Los Vegas etc. to Toledo, OH where I started work for Owens Illinois Inc in September. I worked with them for 5 years and had several interesting jobs and moves earning good money and building 2 new houses, and starting flying.

Blueberries I eat with maple syrup,

it makes them taste just fine

but if you add the pancakes too,

they now become divine.
